Forklift Inspection

Thorough inspection and certification of forklifts and industrial trucks to verify safe operating condition, load capacity, and full regulatory compliance.

Keeping Your Material Handling Safe

Forklifts and industrial trucks are essential for material handling across oil and gas yards, warehouses, and industrial facilities. These machines operate in demanding environments with heavy loads, uneven surfaces, and close proximity to personnel. Any mechanical failure, structural defect, or safety device malfunction can lead to serious incidents including tip-overs, load drops, and collisions.

Well Guard Inspection Services provides comprehensive forklift inspections to ensure every unit in your fleet is safe to operate, mechanically sound, and compliant with applicable safety regulations. Our inspectors assess all critical components and systems to identify potential hazards before they lead to accidents.

Forklift inspection and safety check

Inspection Scope

Structural & Frame Inspection

Visual examination of mast assembly, carriage, forks, overhead guard, counterweight, and chassis for cracks, deformation, corrosion, and weld integrity.

Mast & Fork Assessment

Detailed inspection of mast rails, chains, rollers, and fork tines for wear, bending, cracking, and proper operation. Fork thickness measurement against rejection criteria.

Hydraulic System

Inspection of lift and tilt cylinders, hydraulic hoses, fittings, and control valves for leaks, damage, and proper function. Load holding capability verification.

Braking & Steering

Testing of service brakes, parking brake, and steering system for proper operation, response, and holding capability under loaded and unloaded conditions.

Safety Devices

Verification of horn, lights, reversing alarm, seatbelt, overhead guard, load backrest, mirrors, and any additional safety devices required for the operating environment.

Tire & Wheel Inspection

Assessment of tire condition, wear pattern, inflation pressure, and wheel mounting. Identification of chunking, flat spots, or damage that affects stability.

Inspection Process

1

Documentation Review

Review of forklift specifications, maintenance records, previous inspection reports, and operator training records. Verification of data plate and rated capacity information.

2

Static Inspection

Thorough examination of all structural, mechanical, and safety components with the forklift in a stationary position. Measurement of critical wear points.

3

Operational Testing

Functional testing of all forklift operations including lifting, lowering, tilting, steering, braking, and travel. Verification of smooth operation and proper control response.

4

Certification & Reporting

Classification of findings, issuance of inspection certificate for units meeting requirements, and detailed report with any remediation recommendations for deficiencies found.
